I’m finally starting to see the finish line and I can’t wait to cross it. It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over and that I’m only 20 days away from completing another round of Whole100. Go me!
These past 20 days have been quite boring. My husband traveled, the weather has been foggy, cloudy and rainy, and I haven’t been feeling my best. With the weather starting to change, it’s more difficult to rely on outdoor activities like running; so when we do have a sunny weekend I’ve been trying to take advantage and run.
I’m sure the picture I chose for this post is confusing. You’re probably wondering if I fell off the wagon and ate all of that. I would never!
I‘d like to believe that we are a sugar-free home but in reality, we’re not. He won’t admit to it, but my husband has a sugar addiction that he has, sadly, passed down to our daughter. It was starting to bother me, so I wrote down 10 reasons why I don’t want sugar in the house and gave it to him. I had a conversation with my toddler and she was convinced right away and now doesn’t try to argue with me when I say “no”. My husband is still a work in progress!
We were at the park a few days ago and I asked my daughter if she wanted to go out for frozen yogurt after. She’s 3, I’m obviously not going to cut sugar completely out of her life, so we all went. The picture above is what my husband got himself- a loaded bucket of SUGAR! As soon as I saw his extra large cup, I laughed and had to take a picture. His new nickname is ‘saboteur’. He is usually 80-20 Paleo but he’s been counting macros, so #IIFYM (if it fits your macros), he eats it. When I have a sweet craving, I blame him because I don’t have a sweet tooth, I crave savory foods. I am proud to say, that I haven’t had any cravings lately and my sugar dragon has finally disappeared.
During these next 20 days, I have quite a few parties, potlucks and gatherings that involve food. I have become a pro at brining my own food and I look forward to sharing my Whole30 compliant/Paleo treats with my family and friends.
